Peri-MenopauseQ: Hello. My question is of course in regard to symptoms and the treatment of same when you are in a perimenopausal/menopausal state. My periods are not regular, I have begun to experience sudden, and for no reason, feelings of anxiousness. I sometimes wake up with feelings of anxiousness. I also experience dizziness to such a degree that I have to stop moving or lean up against something to stop the swaying feeling. Are these both symptoms of fluctuating hormones. All of the reading I have done hasn't answered these questions definitively. Would your soy product or B vitamins help? These symptoms have seriously begun to affect my day to day life. A: These are common complaints. These are symptoms of the perimenopause when hormone levels can fluctuate. The Soy Isoflavones help to smooth out these hormone fluctuations and may help a lot. The other thing to try is vitamin B6 100 mgm per day. If these don’t work, then often a tiny dose of estrogen is helpful. The success rate depends a lot on the original type of tubal ligation done and the skill of the operator. I have been doing reversals for more than 20 years and so have refined my technique a lot. If all else is normal, our success rate is well over 90%. |
