Tubal Ligation - Tubes TiedQ: I'm getting my tubes tied, and I would like to know the risks involved. I have been searching on the net, and I read that you can have blood clots in the legs, you can have bladder problems (from the surgeon using the instruments). A: Any surgery has the risk of infection or bleeding. However tubal ligation is done very frequently and in experienced hands the risk is very low. The risk of blood clots in the legs and bladder injury is so infrequent that I have never had one such case in my 28 years of practice, which includes thousands of tubal ligations. I hope that this helps. |
